■ [ 01 · Network ]

A map built by everyone who moves through it.

The Hivemapper Network is a decentralized network of people, cameras and apps mapping the world in real time — every drive adds to a fresher picture of the world's roads.

[ How it works ]

Four steps from a drive to the map. No survey fleets, no special routes.

01 — Capture

On every drive

Dashcams capture fresh street-level imagery on the drives contributors already make.

02 — Protect

Private by default

Faces and licence plates are blurred automatically on the device, before imagery moves on.

03 — Verify

Checked for quality

Contributions are weighed by usable imagery, clarity of view and how saturated a map tile already is.

04 — Map

A living map layer

Verified imagery becomes a continuously refreshed map of the world's roads — and data for physical AI.

[ Privacy by design ]

The map sees roads, not people.

  • AFaces and licence plates are blurred automatically, on the edge, on every device model.
  • BContributors are known only by a random three-word username; map coverage is never tied to it.
  • CThe first and last 500 m of every trip are trimmed — up to 1,000 m if a contributor chooses.
